Do the mosquitoes around here agree?
The amber strip light from TWO Lighting Concept has been used for several seasons in France with positive feedback. Before marketing it here, we want to assess its effect under our conditions, on our species, using a true control area.

Why This Program?
We're not selling it yet. We're measuring it.
The feedback from Europe is encouraging. However, this is not yet proof of the actual effect under North American conditions.
What Has Been Established
Flying insects are particularly sensitive to ultraviolet and blue wavelengths. An amber light source at 590 nm does not emit light in these regions of the spectrum.
What remains to be verified
The species found here—particularly Aedes and Culex— as well as our summer conditions, differ from those found in Europe. The true extent of the effect therefore remains to be measured locally.
Why Are We Waiting?
A marketing claim must be substantiated. We prefer to measure the effect before the product is launched rather than pass on an unverified claim to our integrators and their customers.
The Protocol
Six steps. One evening a week.
Designed to be performed by an installer, not by a laboratory. About thirty minutes per reading.

Choose two comparable areas
Same property, similar exposure and vegetation, with at least ten meters between the two areas. One is lit with amber light, while the other retains its usual lighting.

Set up the kit
Amber tape in the test area and a sticky trap identical in each area, installed at a constant height and distance.

Rise at dusk
Turn on at dusk and take a reading two hours later, within the same time slot for each reading.

Note the conditions
Temperature, wind, humidity, and rainfall over the past twenty-four hours are recorded to ensure that the evenings are comparable.

Reverse the zones
After four readings, the amber changes zones. If the deviation is based on the product rather than the location, the result becomes much more meaningful.

Submit the forms
Photo of the trap and data sheet after each survey. Eight surveys over six weeks, followed by a compilation of all the results.

What each person contributes.
The kit is provided free of charge. In exchange, we ask that you strictly follow the protocol.
You will receive
- The complete kit: tape, supplies, traps, and data sheets—all free of charge.
- You get to keep the equipment at the end of the program.
- The compiled results from all sites prior to their general publication.
- Priority and founder's pricing if the product is ultimately included in the catalog.
- Your company may be mentioned in the earnings release.
You agree to
- Take eight readings over a six-week period, between August and mid-September.
- Obtain the customer's consent for the installation and for taking photos.
- Follow the protocol, including: switching zones halfway through.
- Report the results accurately, even when they are disappointing.
- Do not make any promises regarding effectiveness to the customer during the trial period.
