An IllumiDEL system is designed to last as long as the home itself. This limited warranty applies to IllumiDEL products sold by a certified integrator or through the dealer portal and installed in Canada or the United States in accordance with the product’s installation manual.

02WhatIs Covered
IllumiDEL guarantees that its products are free from manufacturing defects and material failures under normal use conditions for the period specified above. Specifically:
- a pixel, a strip segment, or a light fixture that stops working, flickers, or changes color for reasons unrelated to the wiring;
- a controller or power supply that no longer starts up, loses an output, or loses a data zone;
- a fused output that trips under a compliant load (90 pixels or 100 W or less);
- a connector, a TAP, or a factory extension whose connection comes loose without having been forced;
- premature deterioration of the housing or factory seal, allowing water to enter.
The warranty applies to systems installed in accordance with the product installation manual by an IllumiDEL-certified integrator or by someone who follows the guidelines in the manual. The manual is part of the warranty: it defines what constitutes a compliant installation.
03WhatIs Not Covered
The warranty does not cover damage resulting from installation, handling, or environmental factors rather than the product itself. Specifically:
Installation does not comply with the manual
- reverse polarity, on any product;
- a fused output rated at more than 90 pixels or more than 100 W, or a bypassed power limit;
- positive terminals (24 V+) connected between two enclosures, or the black wire with a white stripe from a TAP connected as negative;
- pixels mounted outside the aluminum rail, or a COB strip mounted outside an aluminum extrusion along its entire length;
- a COB strip that has been bent, crushed, stepped on, or otherwise bent—other than by the 90° IllumiDEL plastic corner;
- Cut outside the printed marks; the cut end is left without a COB end cap and without silicone or epoxy;
- the green wire of a 14/4 cable connected to a data terminal;
- insulated tape on the roller, or uninsulated joints.
Handling, Environment, and Wear and Tear
- physical damage: impact, falls, tools, shovels, snow removal, animals;
- lightning, power surges, flooding, fire, ice buildup, extreme winds;
- water entering through an unsealed penetration, an enclosure left open, or a connection made on site without a sleeve;
- a product that has been modified, repaired, or opened by anyone other than IllumiDEL, or combined with parts not manufactured by IllumiDEL (power supply, controller, connectors);
- normal wear and tear and changes in appearance: slight variations in color between batches, discoloration of the diffuser over time, scratches;
- Product purchased secondhand, outside the IllumiDEL network, or without proof of purchase.
The warranty covers the product, not the installation. Labor costs for removing and reinstalling a part, rental of access equipment, and travel expenses are governed by the agreement between the customer and their integrator.
04Starting Pointand Transfer
The warranty begins on the date of installation or purchase and is tied to the installation, not the person: if the house is sold, the new owner retains the warranty for the remainder of the term, upon presentation of the original invoice. A product that has been removed and then reinstalled elsewhere is no longer covered.
A part replaced under warranty is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period, and for at least 12 months from the date of replacement.
05WhatIllumiDEL Does
If the product is covered, IllumiDEL may, at its discretion, choose to:
- repair the product;
- replace it with an identical new product or, if the model is no longer manufactured, with an equivalent product from the current generation;
- or issue a credit on the dealer portal for the value of the product.
The replacement part is shipped to the integrator, free of charge, from Longueuil. For diagnostic purposes, IllumiDEL may request that the product in question be returned to it; a return label is provided. Products returned without prior approval will not be processed.
06Filea Complaint
The quickest way is to contact the integrator who performed the installation: they are familiar with the system, have the invoice, and can check the wiring on site. If that's not possible, please contact us directly.
07MaintainingYour Warranty
All it takes is three habits:
- Leave the system alone. No pressure, no solvents, no ice scrapers on the rails. A soft, dry cloth is all it takes.
- Check it once per season. A loose end cap, a rail that’s shifted, a cable pinched by a gutter: if you fix it right away, it’ll never turn into a complaint.
- Contact the integrator for any changes. Adding a zone, extending a line, or moving the enclosure involves wiring, and wiring is covered by the warranty terms.
The installation manuals and quick reference guides are in the training center.
08Applicationsand the Cloud
The IllumiDEL app and the cloud relay are provided free of charge and without a subscription. They are updated regularly, but their availability is not guaranteed: a temporary interruption in the cloud service does not constitute a product defect. The system continues to operate in local control mode on the home Wi-Fi network, and the schedules stored in the controller continue to run.
A controller that can no longer connect due to a change in router, password, or network is not malfunctioning; see the troubleshooting section on the Support page.
09Statutory Warrantyand Limitations
This warranty is in addition to the statutory warranty provided for under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act and equivalent laws in other provinces and states, which continue to apply. Nothing herein limits those warranties.
To the extent permitted by law, IllumiDEL’s liability is limited to repair, replacement, or a credit for the product, and does not cover consequential damages: loss of use, access fees, finishing work, or property damage caused by improper installation.
This warranty is IllumiDEL’s sole express warranty. No integrator, dealer, or distributor is authorized to modify it on behalf of IllumiDEL. IllumiDEL may update this warranty for products sold after the update date; the version in effect on the date of purchase applies to your system.
