Training Center · IllumiDEL App

The app.
Set up.
Monitor.

One lighting ecosystem, one app. Pixel, COB, Neon, Landscape, Indoor: everything can be configured and controlled in one place. Here: videos, first-time setup, product-specific settings, and troubleshooting.

Before You Begin

Two apps, one controller.

The controller doesn't change. What changes is the app that the customer installs on their phone.

APPLICATION V1

Today's

Control via your home Wi-Fi. Zones, colors, effects, presets, schedules. This is the app the customer downloads when they receive the keys: IllumiDEL V1 on the App Store and Google Play. The three videos below cover everything you need to know to set it up.

CLOUD APPLICATION

The next one

Local control remains the priority, with automatic switching to the cloud when you're away from home. Free cloud relay, no subscription required. Account, access sharing, collections, Studio, Music Sync, AI assistant. Nineteen episodes are currently in production; they will be added here as they become available.

Training videos

Review. Complete. Review again if necessary.

The three modules in the V1 app cover the entire setup process. The modules in the Cloud app follow.

Checklist · Application

From the client's Wi-Fi access point.
What you need to know by heart.

First-time setup, product-specific settings, troubleshooting, and handoff to the customer—all on one page. The videos above show each screen; this is the version you can review in five seconds on-site.

01FirstConnection to the Controller, in Order

Turn on the unit and look at the line

Pixel: If everything is wired correctly, the first 30 pixels are off and the rest are blue —the controller is factory-set to 30 pixels. All blue from the start = no data; nothing = power. COB: The strip is completely off by default, even if it is wired correctly; it turns on after configuration.

Connect to the controller's access point

On the phone, near the case, Wi-Fi → Network IllumiDEL AP. The controller broadcasts this network until it connects to the client's Wi-Fi. The app opens.

Password — old appwled1234
Password — new appillumidel1234
Settings → LEDs: type, zone, number

Select the type based on the product installed (Pixel: IllumiDEL Pixel RGBW · SMD · Regular — COB: IllumiDEL Pixel RGBW, then the button COB), the data field, and the number: see block 02. Save by clicking the green checkmark.

Apply a bold color

Once you've recorded the type and number, apply a distinct color (not blue) to each area: you can immediately see which ones are lit, which ones are still off, and which ones are still blue.

Wi-Fi → SCAN → client network

Select the client's Wi-Fi, 2.4 GHz only, enter the password, and save. The controller restarts, and the network IllumiDEL AP disappears: that's a good sign.

Check the IP address

Reconnect the phone to the customer's Wi-Fi network, then reopen the app: the controller appears and displays an IP address under Wi-Fi. No address = not connected: try again, check the password and the 2.4 GHz band.

Test each area

100% white, zone by zone, followed by a color. The number of pixels or the length of the lit area must match the entered count. A blue zone = data; a dark zone = power.

Put the customer back in the driver's seat

The customer downloads IllumiDEL V1 (App Store · Google Play), connects to the same Wi-Fi network, and the system appears. Set up a scene or a schedule, and you're done.

Procedure for the Cloud application: coming soon with the video clips.

Is the Wi-Fi signal weak at the router? The app keeps disconnecting, and the schedule gets messed up. Add a Wi-Fi extender or connect the router via an RJ45 cable: a wired connection is stable, and that’s what we recommend whenever the router is in the basement, the garage, or behind a concrete wall.

02Config→ LED depending on the product installed

PixelType: IllumiDEL Pixel RGBW · SMD · Regular

Number = pixels per section, based on the count taken during installation (9 per 6-foot rail). One missing pixel at the end = incorrect count. Detail: Pixel formation.

COB · StripType: IllumiDEL Pixel RGBW, then the button COB · Switch

Two buttons appear, COB and Switch : For a COB strip, it's COB. Number = LEDs per meter (on the roll label) × meters installed, by zone. A band that remains blue = data (arrows, DO/DI, green line). Details: COB Training.

Data Zones — GPIO, only if a zone does not respond

The outputs are pre-assigned. If they need to be checked:

Data and power: two separate accounts

A data zone often spans multiple merged outputs (one TAP every 10 rails in Pixel, one joint every 5 m in COB). In the app, you enter the total for the zone, not for each output. The merged outputs are calculated on paper: 90 pixels or 20 feet per output, 100 W.

03Troubleshooting: symptom → cause → solution

Symptom
Probable cause
Remedy
The IllumiDEL AP network does not appear
The controller is already connected to a Wi-Fi network, or the phone is too far from the base station.
Stand near the unit. If it's already connected to a network, search for it on that network in the app. Otherwise, reset the controller's Wi-Fi (using the button on the control board) and try again.
No IP address after the SCAN
Incorrect password, 5 GHz network, or signal too weak at the router.
Select the 2.4 GHz network, re-enter the password, move the router closer, or switch to an RJ45 connection.
Pixel: The first 30 are off, the rest are blue
Normal before configuration: 30 pixels by default.
Enter the actual number of pixels in Config → LED. The blue lights will turn off.
COB: Everything is off when powered on
Normal behavior before configuration: The strip does not light up until the type and number of LEDs have been registered.
Configure first. Always turn off afterward: power (fuse, WAGO, output) or incorrect data zone.
All blue from the very first pixel, or blue after configuration
Powered on, but no data.
Green wire at the first pixel or at the DO of the first segment; direction of the arrows; data zone selected in Config → LED.
Nothing lights up after the first pixel, or the line displays upside down
Placed with the arrows pointing toward the housing instead of away from it.
The first pixel or segment must be closest to the housing. Reinstall the affected rail.
Sparkle, random colors
A 24-volt issue—or a loose connection. The most common problem.
Replace all ground and data connections. If there are two control boxes: connect their 24 V − (14 AWG) wires.
The area ends at a certain point
Failed connection between two pixels, cut outside the mark, loose joint.
Start from the last lit point and reconnect as follows.
There are missing pixels at the end, or the effect cuts off
The number entered in the app is smaller than the actual balance.
Recalculate the area and correct it in Config → LED. A number that's too large isn't a problem; one that's too small is.
An output does not turn on or cuts out while charging
The 100 W detection system has blocked the fused output.
Calculate the actual load, move a section to another outlet, or shorten it. Do not exceed the limit.
The zone weakens or cuts out once it gets hot
More than 90 pixels, more than 20 feet, or a home run that's too long on a pitch.
Add a TAP or an injection, and move the housing closer.
The app loses its connection
Weak Wi-Fi signal at the router.
Wi-Fi extender, or RJ45.
Nothing turns on at all
Reversed polarity, loose connection, or short circuit.
Turn off the power. Check the polarity and each connection before doing anything else; on the TAP, the black wire with a white stripe is the positive terminal.

Hands-On Training

Some skills are best learned in person.

Our hands-on training courses allow integrators to work with IllumiDEL systems, practice installation methods, configure a controller from start to finish, and ask our team questions directly.
