At IllumiDEL Inc. (“IllumiDEL,” “we,” “our”), protecting your personal information is important to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our websites, our IllumiDEL mobile app, our online portals, and our connected products and services.

- Backups of your controllers' configurations, zones, scenes, and presets when you enable cloud backup
- Firmware Version and Technical Information
- Connection status and information required for system diagnostics and operation

- Device Type and Operating System
- App Version
- IP Address
- Technical logs, diagnostics, and error reports
- Data required for the security and proper functioning of our services
Website Forms
When you fill out a form on our website (request for information, technical support, integrator account request, participation in a promotion), we collect the information you enter: name, contact information, installation address, your integrator’s name, and, depending on the form, any photos or documents you choose to attach. This information is used solely to process your request and is retained for no more than 24 months, unless it results in the creation of an account, a contract, or a warranty.
Photos and Camera
Some features—such as the simulation tool or submitting a photo for a project or promotion—require access to your camera or photo library. Only the photos you select are sent. You can revoke this permission in your device's settings.
Location Information
Some features may require access to your location, particularly when it is necessary for a feature you choose to use to function properly.
When your device requires authorization, you can grant or deny access in your device's settings. Some features may not work properly if this authorization is disabled.
02Useof Your Information
We use the information we collect, among other things, to:
- Create and Manage Your IllumiDEL Account
- Connect and manage your controllers and lighting systems
- Enable local or remote control of your systems
- Link a project to its address—particularly for sunrise and sunset times, service, and warranty
- Synchronize certain configurations and features with our cloud services
- Save your configuration and presets, and restore them to a replaced or reset controller
- Allow access to a project to be shared when you grant permission
- Provide the functionality of the IllumiDEL application and portals
- Ensuring the security and reliability of our services
- Diagnosing Technical Problems
- Improving our products, our app, and our services
- Provide technical support and customer service
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
We do not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with those for which it was collected, except where permitted by law or with your consent.
03Information Sharing
IllumiDEL does not sell your personal information.
However, we may engage technology providers necessary for the operation of our services, including for cloud hosting, authentication, communications, security, diagnostics, and IT infrastructure. These providers may process certain information only to the extent necessary to provide their services to IllumiDEL and in accordance with applicable privacy obligations.
When you choose to share access to a project with an integrator, an installer, or another user, certain information about the project and the devices involved may also become available to the people you have authorized.
Payments. Purchases made on the integrator portal are processed by Shopify and its payment service providers. IllumiDEL does not see or store your card numbers; only your name, billing address, and order details are shared with us.
Certified Integrators. As part of the integrator program, the company name, city, service area, certification level, and business contact information of integrators are published on the “Find an Integrator” map, with their consent. An integrator may request the removal or modification of their listing at any time.
We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the security of our systems.
04Securityand Encryption
IllumiDEL uses reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure.
Personal data transmitted between the application and our cloud services is protected using appropriate encryption technologies during transmission.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security.
05Privacy Incidents
IllumiDEL maintains a record of privacy incidents in accordance with the law. If an incident poses a risk of serious harm to the individuals concerned, we notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the affected individuals as soon as possible, and we take reasonable measures to mitigate the consequences.

06Retentionof Information
We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, for the operation of our services, or to comply with our legal obligations.
When information is no longer needed, it is deleted, anonymized, or securely destroyed in accordance with our retention policies and applicable laws.
Configuration backups are retained as long as your account is active. They are deleted when the account is deleted, or upon request.
07DeletingYour Account and Data
You can request that your IllumiDEL account and the personal information associated with it be deleted. A deletion option may be available directly within the app, or you can email us at info@illumidel.com.
When a request for deletion is made, we delete or anonymize the personal information associated with the account, except for information that we are required to retain to comply with our legal, regulatory, security, or accounting obligations.
Deleting an account may result in the loss of access to certain projects, controllers, configurations, or cloud services associated with the account.
08 Cookiesand Similar Technologies
Our website and online services may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- to ensure the site operates properly
- to maintain certain preferences
- to improve the user experience
- to measure the usage and performance of our services
- to ensure the security of our platforms
When required by law, we will ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies. You can also manage your preferences through your browser or our cookie management tool, which is available at the bottom of the page.
09Third-Party ToolsUsed on the Site
Our website uses the following services. Each is governed by its provider’s privacy policy, and when it sets non-essential cookies, it is activated only with your consent.
- Google Analytics — anonymized audience metrics (page views, traffic sources, devices).
- Meta (Facebook Pixel) — measures the performance of our ads; enabled only if you accept marketing cookies.
- Google Maps — Integrator Locator Map; Google receives your IP address and the ZIP code you enter for the search.
- Vimeo — Watch training videos in "Do Not Track" mode.
- Weglot — website translation; no personal data, just the text on the pages.
- Shopify — integration portal and order processing.
- Hosting and Security — web hosting providers, caching, and protection against attacks, which process IP addresses for technical purposes.
The list is updated whenever we add or remove a service.
10 App Integrations
Some features of our products may interact with third-party services or platforms—for example, a home automation system like Control4, or a voice assistant.
When you choose to use a third-party integration, that provider’s use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy. IllumiDEL is not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party services you choose to use.
11Transferand Processing of Information
Some service providers used by IllumiDEL may process or store information outside of Quebec or Canada. In such cases, the information may be subject to the laws applicable in the jurisdictions where it is processed.
IllumiDEL takes the measures required by applicable laws—including a privacy impact assessment—before transferring personal information outside of Quebec.
12YourRights
Under applicable laws, you may have the right, among other things, to:
- to access the personal information we have about you
- to request the correction of inaccurate information
- to withdraw your consent when the processing is based on it
- to request the removal of certain information
- to obtain information regarding the use of your personal information
- to file a complaint regarding our privacy practices
Certain legal restrictions may apply. To exercise your rights, please write to info@illumidel.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
13 Communicationsand Promotions
If you have provided us with your email address—by creating an account, filling out a form, or participating in a promotion—we may send you communications about our products, new offerings, and promotions, in accordance with the Canadian Anti-Spam Act.
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of each email, or by emailing us at info@illumidel.com. Emails necessary for the operation of your account or system (confirmation, security, support) will continue to be sent.
When you participate in a promotion that requires photos of your setup, those photos are used on our website or social media only with your explicit consent, and never along with your address or full name.
14Protectionof Minors' Personal Information
IllumiDEL products and services are not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without the authorization required by law. If we learn that personal information has been collected in violation of applicable requirements, we will take appropriate measures to delete it.
15Changesto This Policy
We may modify this policy to reflect changes in our services, practices, or legal requirements. The date of the last update is indicated at the top of this page. When required by law, we will provide appropriate notice of any significant changes.
